Striving for Excellence: At Durham Lodge we are determined to do everything possible to help our clients achieve their dreams.

Stallions

It all starts with the quality of the stallions and at Durham Lodge they must all have the three 'P's':-

Performance: All stallions must have won at Group 1 Level

Pedigree: Only stallions with outstanding pedigrees are considered.

Presence: Stallions need to have striking good looks and an aura about them.

In BLACKFRIARS, BROCCO, HURRICANE SKY and UNIVERSAL PRINCE we have four stallions who all meet the necessary criteria.

Service

We aim to give clients the best possible service starting with offering clients access to our many pedigree programmes to assist with any information required. Jeremy Smith with his background in pedigree research is only too happy to assist clients. We recognise the importance of keeping clients informed during the stud season of mares coverings and pregnancy tests.

Nutrition

Durham Lodge in conjunction with Kentucky Equine and other nutritional specialists has developed its own cube which it feeds to weanlings, yearlings preparing for sale, mares with foals and at different stages of pregnancy. A winter and summer formulation of the cube allows for the nutrition variation between pasture and hay.

Lucern or Oaten Chaff is added to the cubes depending on the avaliability and quality of pasture. Chaff also has the benefit of slowing down the intake of the cubes.
