IMPRESSIVE BLACKFRIARS DOUBLE

Very impressive wins by Amberlyn and Magical Belle provided Blackfriars with a double at Belmont Park today.

Amberlyn jumped to the front and was well rated before sprinting away to claim a comfortable victory by 3 1/2 lengths. Magical Belle settled well back in her first up run from a spell and produced a great turn of foot to win eased down by 2 1/2 lengths. Simply Adorable and the consistent Shiney Row two other tough Blackfriars mares were both unlucky placegetters at the meeting.

SCENIC'S SON VIEWED WINS BRISBANE CUP.

While all local eyes were on Scenic's outstanding galloper Scenic Shot in the Brisbane cup another son of the great Scenic named Viewed demolished his opposition to win eased down by 7 lengths.

Trained by the master Bart Cummings Viewed will now have a short let up before being set for the Melbourne Cup.

Scenic Shot ran a game race under his big weight of 59kg to finish 4th and round off a wonderful campaign which has seen his career earnings jump to over the $1 Million mark.

Our champion sire Scenic is having another amazing season which see him currently ranked 5th in the nation with progeny earnings this year just a tick under $5 Million, not bad for a W.A based sire who was never given the quality or numbers that some of the other high profile sires in Australia received.

All this is good news for Scenic's best son Universal Prince who will commence stud duties at Durham Lodge this spring at the value fee of only $8,800 inc gst.
